Shavings - Turning the big stuff

Finally got around to finish welding the outrigger for the TL1500. This allows me to swivel the head 90° to the front. Now I can turn stuff 700mm in diameter :-)

Chucked up a couple of big Eucalyptus blanks that were lying around to test the setup. The 430mm on the right is a platter blank, the 455mm on the left is a large fruitbowl. Must say that the rig handled really well. Very little vibration, even though the tool post is bit long. The bulk of the work was done with the Woodcut 16mm bowl gouge and the ER32 Kelton Handle. Final finishing passes where done using a 13mm gouge. The heavy Kelton handles really dampen vibration when wet turning these big blanks.
